When a single male enters an establishment, he searches for a potential female with which to make acquaintance. If the female likes the male in short order, she may give him her telephone number. If the male is required to perform a series of complicated tasks, gyrations or obsequious panderings about what he thinks she wants to hear, before the female is forthcoming with her number, it is called a complex number.
