Forum:Illogicopedian's Choice Awards

From Illogicopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
Voting on all categories ends April 1. Nope, that's no joke.
Fancy having one of these on your mantelpiece?

At the start of 2012, Illogicopedia turned five years old. Instead of throwing a stonking great party with haddock curry and banana pizza (although you're free to organise that yourself at your own house if you want), we're celebrating with a good old-fashioned sophisticated awards ceremony. But we need your help. You see, we can't just pick great articles and users out of thin air to randomly award. This isn't 2007, you know, and things have progressed somewhat. This is why we're giving you, the Illogicopedia users, a chance to reward your peers with more meaningless fantastic accolades the likes of which even Tom Cruise would turn his nose up at kill to have on his mantelpiece. And he probably will, so keep away from Hollywood for a few months if you value your life.

It's all pretty self explanatory. Simply follow the voting/nomming regulations on each individual category, and feel free to add your own categories to the Pick of the Bunch awards, should you feel the urge. Above all, remember to have fun, luvvies!

The Top Bananas[edit]

These are 'officially sanctioned' Illogicopedian awards. Usual etiquette from IOTM please, and don't go mucking about or we'll send in the clowns.

Best Article[edit]

This is it, the ultimate accolade. What, in your humble opinion, is the best article to ever grace the pages of the Illogicopedia? Don't worry, we won't punish you for spurious suggestions, as long as they are honest. And oh yeah, don't nom your own stuff, because that's not sporting is it? To get you started, check out the list of Illogicopedia featured articles.

Voting: Up to five votes per user or you'll get flogged, darlings. And remember to sign your vote/nomination or it's double whipping for you, boy.
Extra regulations: Unlimited noms allowed, and article must have been created prior to 1 January 2012. Well, duh.

  • Yes. I peed my pants so wet that they were used to put out a forest fire. But really, I love this article, always have, and always will. —rms talk 04:51, 15 Jeremy 2012 (UTC)

  • Nom + Vote Though it may not be an article you can read in a hurry, it has some cracking lines and is without doubt one of ?Pedia's best.--Ben Blade 18:49, 30 Ditzimber 2011 (UTC)
    • Comment: Does this include the sequel as well? If so, I may be tempted to vote as early as January... -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 12:20, 1 Jeremy 2012 (UTC)
      • This definitely has to include the sequel, they're the same tale, just cut into two less-browser crushing chunks. If no one minds I'm amending this no to add the sequel in. Testostereich(ballsack) 17:52, 7 Jeremy 2012 (UTC)

  • Formby I think this article is responsible for influencing every Alex and Chubson article, every Shaun Ploddington Vassell article, and my overall presence that wasn't so obvious during the good times (and the wars of the wurzles). • NOM, came at a time when epics were just getting underway, and tons of users jumped on this one to make it what it was. Probably the best illogic sesh' I've had when me, HelloolleH and MrMetalFLower still used to hang out and edit together. I would vote for right now , but that'd be slightly vanitous so its just a nom for nowTestostereich(ballsack) 17:52, 7 Jeremy 2012 (UTC)

The Ultimate User[edit]

The backslapping bit. Who is the bestest, most awesome user you've ever seen? On this site, I mean. Don't go nominating some obscure Wikipedia user who's never even heard of Illogicopedia or the penguin will be rather angry.

Voting: Up to three votes per user or you'll get flogged, darlings. And remember to sign your vote/nomination or it's double whipping for you, boy.
Extra regulations: Unlimited noms allowed, as are blatant bribes.

  • Nom. Perhaps the single most prolific user we've seen to date, the ultimate article writer. He screws us up. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 14:25, 30 Ditzimber 2011 (UTC)
  • Vote - Although he is more occupied with drowning his liver with booze nowadays, his writing style is genius (as shown by his very imprssive list of features) and has contributed to the site in a way few others have by being a great character and amazing writer.--Ben Blade 18:49, 30 Ditzimber 2011 (UTC)
  • Vote - I was unbelievably torn when deciding between Testes and Hindleyite, but I decided to go with Testicles. I wish I could vote for both. --T3 07:14, 3 Jeremy 2012 (UTC)

THE[edit]

Score: 2

  • Nom and vote. She gave the most bans for 2011, got promoted to an admin in a few months with tireless stuff I could do in my sleep grunt work no one else wanted to do, and produced a few articles that are not as crappy as mine. I tip my hat to that. Also has a penchant for moldy potatoes and cats.--Colonel Sanders 19:05, 30 Ditzimber 2011 (UTC)

  • NOM and VOTE. I checked the other day, this guy's on something like 25,000 edits. The only admin to be here from the start and maintain a visible presence throughout the entirety of the wiki's life, in my view there's no one more deserving of this award and the subsequent userpage template that'll probably come with it. Protecting the wiki from devestation, and uniting all n00bs within our nation, Hindleyiter admins at the speed of light. And he's prertty nifty with the article writing too. So yeah. IOTM voting regs end here. Go nuts.

Remember to follow individual voting regulations, luvvies. Or not.

Awesome of the Half-Decade[edit]

Regulations: Unlimited noms allowed, but none otherwise. Go nuts.
  • This isn't a nom, but its surely got to be one of the epic userbase dramas that the forum seemed to go under once a month a couple of years ago. I've seen whole novels created in the back and forth over standards and practice on illogicopedia. Testostereich(ballsack) 13:20, 31 Ditzimber 2011 (UTC)

Also..

I remember those! They were more popular than the wiki articles themselves, a reminder that Illogicopedia has always been about the userbase conflict and not the articles! :D -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 12:03, 1 Jeremy 2012 (UTC)

Membergate[edit]

Score: 1
  • NOM What better way to prove Illogicopedia was finally past its childish throwing feces at walls days than a long and protracted ideological battle over whether or not stark depictrions of the male member should be visible on the wiki. While it seems a bit silly looking back on it, complex ethics were discussed at length and tempers flaired by this in early April last year. Testostereich(ballsack) 13:20, 31 Ditzimber 2011 (UTC)
  • I'm going to vote for this, seeing as we probably won't have a limit on votes in this category. Maybe. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 12:03, 1 Jeremy 2012 (UTC)

The era of Political parties[edit]

  • Nomination. 'twas great fun, and despite the parties having no relevance whatsoever to the running of the wiki, everyone was belonged to one (or quite a few, as the case quite often was). Gone, But Not Forgotten: Lifetime Achievement Award[edit]

They may be dead, but their spirit lives on. Of course, I'm talking of Illogicopedia users here, the ones we haven't seen much of recently but we still love them.

Voting: Up to 1,091 votes per user. And remember to sign your vote/nomination or it's double whipped cream for you, baby.
Extra regulations: Unlimited noms allowed, because I feel like it.

Fluffalizer[edit]

Score: 1
  • Nom and for. His crazy technobabble filled much of the early Illogicopedia. We may not have been able to understand any of it, but he did help fix a load of broken coding and such. As a result, he's awesome. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 11:51, 13 Jeremy 2012 (UTC)

Score: 1
  • Nom and for, not only for being the founding member of the hugely popular Ducks for Ducks, but being such an influential figure in the early days of the Illogicopedia. The Golden Banana Skin (A.K.A. Villain of the Half-Decade)[edit]

The guys we love to hate. Their edits may have been less than constructive, their comments dramatic in the extreme. Who is your favourite Illogicopedian villain?

Voting: Up to 1,091 votes per user. And remember to sign your vote/nomination or it's double whipped cream for you, baby.
Extra regulations: Unlimited noms allowed, because I feel like it.

Wikia[edit]

Score: 1
  • Nom and for. The archetypal villain - just ask any Uncyclopedian. Although they provided a welcoming home for more than a year, things took a dramatic turn for the worse with forced skin changes leading to extended 'battles' with Wikia staff. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 12:38, 31 Jeremy 2012 (UTC)
