A discovery yesterday at a major pyramid built 4,000 years ago in ancient Egypt fascinated scientists. Instead of gold, or a dead body, or artefacts in general, what was found was even more amazing... fossilised balls of wheat. 'Gnocchi. Turned into stone.' is what one of the scientists said. Yes. It's gnocchi.

We asked chief scientist, Mr Silly-Name, about it. He said, 'Well. This is especially peculiar, as gnocchi is believed to have originated in Italy, 500 years ago, not here. I suspect this was not a burial pyramid, but rather a pasta house. Well then...'

This has since been confirmed by excavations of cutlery, napkins (turned to stone) and the bodies of chefs. We hope to see more.
