Zoom and Enhance

Zoom and enhance is a method used in the CCTV industry to ensure every person is behind bars by the year 2000. It is a form of highly expensive super-technology used only by a select few, who are sworn to secrecy over its operations. Nevertheless, it is very common in the television and movie industries, where money (and sense) is no object.

How it works[edit | edit source]

One can take any piece of grainy, black and white, jerky piece of CCTV footage and transform it into a HD movie at the touch of a button. Advanced systems can also utilise pseudo-3D imaging to move the camera's position in order to see behind solid objects or parts of the room normally out of view. Super-advanced versions of the program can simulate what's happening in an adjacent room and/or see through walls and pillars. What's more, this process can be done on any regular computer with 80s software and the image still takes only seconds to process and develop.

Seemingly coded in flash, the program nearly always makes effective use of green text in the System font and causes the computer to bleep loudly whenever a button is pressed.
