The Creek Indians were a large Native American group in the southern U.S. They got their name because they built their settlements underwater. As a result, many tribe members drowned. However, they never had to worry about taking baths. This is how they got their nick-name, the "Squeaky-Clean Creeks", eg. saying they lived underwater & so didn't have to bathe.
