The alien overlords rule over earth and do what ever they want with the planet. Little is known about them since Human slaves are only allowed to have a minimum amount of knowledge about them. They have conquered nearly every planet in the universe and treat all of them like crap. They usually have an administrator govern a puppet government for them before the finish the whole species.
