You have chosen the ancient samurai sword. A questionable choice, mostly due to the fact that you would need to get dangerously close to your opponent in order to engage in combat. But, the beasts of this land have very long limbs, which serve as both their strength and their weakness. Cutting the limbs would severely incapacitate the beast, and if done skillfully and expertly, the beast will come tumbling down. You can then move in and finish off the beast in epic style.
Just don't ponder seppuku when the going gets too tough.
