A group of curious Germans in Norway wandered into a cave, and found supposed alien civilizations. One of them photographed one of the inhabitants and posted it to Twitter with #PokemonIRL, with some scientists saying that the sentient creature looked similar to Homo neanderthalesis, which has been thought to have been extinct for 40,000 years. But when one of the inhabitants went with an explorer out of the caves, the specimen met a scientist who conducted a genetic test on him, and confirmed that he was indeed a Neanderthal. Scientists around the world believed that as Homo sapiens pushed the Neanderthals up north, many Neanderthals decided to go underground and build many underground colonies and remain hidden from humans for thousands of years.
