Nazis Were People, Too

A person.

Nazis were pretty terrible, but they were also people.

Well, that's unfortunate. They had heads, shoulders, knees, and toes like everyone else. Brains, maybe, but I don't know if that's necessary for someone to be a person. I mean, how else would you explain the Republican Party?

I'm not saying they were good people

They were just people. Like, your stepfather, who is in no way your real dad, is an awful person, but he's still a person. So were Nazis.

Hitler was a person

I know. I wish he were some otherworldly life form, too, because then we wouldn't have to face the grim reality that something very similar to you could commit such atrocities and horrors.
