The book starts with an extremely loud gunshot (only the hardcover version). After that, a demon jumps out completely naked and challenges you to a chess match (only the paperback version). It is then sucked back into the book, although you have to squint to see all the words with the letter before d and after b (only the audiobook version). This also applies to articles about the book.
