You climb out the window into a blinding snowstorm.

So much snow has fallen that it's almost drifted up to the attic window, so you only drop a few feet when you emerge.

The shoggoth comes out right after you, and vanishes into the drift in a cloud of steam. Something about shoggoths and snow? Dunno. Seems like we've seen the last of it, at least for the time being.
