Zipedia:Wikispecies

Wikispecies is a Wikimedia project that catalogs species of organisms and viruses. The project is not divided into languages, and administrative documents are written in each language, but articles are written in English only, except for the sections for each language. The project was created in response to a sense of crisis that there was no comprehensive resource for the classification of biological species. Due to its nature, Wikispecies is used more by experts than other wikis, and is considered to have a higher status as reference source than Wikipedia. Each article includes the species positionning in the taxonomic system, its name in each language, and the source that lists the species.
