I Had An Idea But I Forgot It

I had an idea for an article that I wanted to write today. I thought it was pretty clever when I came up with it. I was looking forward to writing it. But the past couple days when I tried logging on, I got a blank page because of glitch. And. Today when I logged on the site was working, but my idea had fled. Where has it gone? Beyond my reach, stuck somewhere in some obscure corner of my brain, gathering dust and mildew, hidden behind half-forgotten formulas and memories of dead trees. What if you could take ideas out of your head, cut them up with rusty knives, and watch them ooze? Eel Chunks. I wanted to write an article called Eel Chunks one time, but I never got around to it. Shame. My idea was like an eel, it was <<<BAD METAPHOR CENSORED>>>. Also, you can flirt, um....finish this before...the defragmenting is complete...


Am I flopping on a dock? Am I dragged down by crabs to have a round object float to the surface? Am I staring at broken glass and mourning the loss of shapes? am I writing it in words?

this is what's known as stream-of-consciousness writing. It's supposed to be writin that reflects the way the human brain freely flows from one thought to another with little rhyme or reason, which is an activity. If this is a snapshot of the thoughts of a certain human being at a certain time of day, they can be deemed part of a larger picture, with perhaps an idea of some sort---an idea---inside them---somewhere...
