The Tider (often stylized in all caps, as in "THE TIDER") is a nefarious supermarket supervillain who terrorizes many an innocent customer.

Their methods of inducing fear into unsuspecting shoppers is through stealthily sneaking bottles of laundry detergent into people's carts.

The Tider originally used Tide-brand detergent when they first started their mischief, hence the name.
