Why So Serious?

An Alternative Take On A Batman Movie

Chapter 1[edit | edit source]

The Joker!

Batman entered the interrogation room in the Gotham City Police Department. The Joker was sitting casually in a chair. The chair was a calm white chair, with the paint chipped occasionally on the sides. Small discolorations littered the surface of the calm white chair, the chair the Joker was now sitting in. There was something about his expression that hinted that he was excited to see his old "pal" Batman, but it was not something to be sure of. Hello. said the Joker. Batman did not ackknowledge him, instead he pounded his fist on the interrogation table, clearly unamused at the Joker's attempt at a polite greeting. I would like to ram my fist into your creepy little face, but Warner Bros. won't allow it! declared Batman. The Joker laughed hysterically at how Batman was unable to harm him without having to get sued by the very company that was making the movie that he was now in. Don't get too excited, I might have to call your little butler man to come pick you up if you pass out again. the Joker scoffed. Batman, fighting back his instincts, angrily sharpened a pack of pencils, then snapped all of them in half. What were you doing with 2.5 million dollars in your pocket? asked Batman. Oh those, yeah I got them from my good friend, who happens to be a Supreme Court judge. replied the Joker. Batman looked around, scanning the environment for a hidden camera. He turned back to the Joker and commented on the weather, throwing down smoke bombs in the process. And he was gone.

Chapter 2[edit | edit source]

Little did anyone know that the Joker had also escaped, using his advanced knowledge of grizzly bears and switchblade knives. A cop that was stationed outside the door fumbled for the radio mic but accidentally spilled his coffee all over himself. Eventually he managed to press the talk button. Hello, Police HQ. said the operator. Yes, The Joker has just escaped from his holding cell. said the cop. And how long ago was this sir? asked the operator. Three hours ago... replied the cop, slightly embarrassed. The operator sighed and told the officer to please hold, while he secretly went out to eat at his favorite restaurant, went bowling, and brushed his teeth. The cop had been waiting for seven hours before the operator finally came back online. Okay. I'm sorry, but we don't tolerate prank calls. he said. What?!? This isn't a prank, I'm a real cop! I have a badge and everything! the outraged man yelled into the phone. Next time I hear from you I'm going to have you arrested. Goodnight. replied the operator, who then proceeded to go home, to his house.

Chapter 3[edit | edit source]

Batman walked out of the police building to the Batmobile. He found that his tires had been removed, and his car now rested on concrete blocks. Vandals. mumbled Batman, as he got out some spare tires from the trunk. Batman drove through Gotham City, taking note of any strange behaviour, such as a man slapping a carrot. Now, that was just weird. Batman parked outside his mansion, walked to the door, fiddled for the right key, and finally walked inside. The house was a mess, a result of Alfred his butler claiming to have a "tea party" the previous night. Batman went to his room and took off his Batsuit. He placed it in a glass case, which he polished every two weeks. Bruce Wayne was now standing naked in his room staring at a picture of his long lost dad, when Alfred walked in. Oh my sir, I wasn't aware you were in the nude! he exclaimed. No no, its fine. Come Alfred, sit by me. Bruce said. Alfred awkwardly shuffled over to Mr.Wayne, who was still facing the wall. We need to stop these, these things! These evil things that are in this city! WE NEED TO KILL BAD GUYS!!!!! Bruce screamed. He swiftly turned around, catching Alfred by surprise. Oh dear Mr.Wayne! he shouted. Bruce looked down and sighed. I'm sorry, I think I got a little carried away. I need a drink... he said, walking out of the room. Little did he know that he had forgotten his pants.........

Chapter 4[edit | edit source]

The Joker had just blown up a hospital, commandeered a tractor trailer, robbed a bank, and impersonated a nurse. He was tired. But it didn't matter, because Batman was bound to show up at the Joker's front door. The Joker carefully attached a tripwire bomb to the frame of his door and went and sat in his bathroom. Little did he know that Batman was standing behind him.
