Backwards text is text that is backwards. It is usually used to mean text that has the letters reversed in order, i.e. is sdrawckab nettirw. Proper backwards text, however, is entirely backwards: the shapes of the letters themselves are reversed. One example of this is the text you're reading right now. Can you read this? If you can, either you have a probably quite useless skill or you cheated, possibly by copying it into a text editor. If you can read this without cheating, you may be right-brained and have a certain kind of personality involving being detail-oriented and having psychic powers good intuition.

Upside down text is usually also backwards. This type of transformation is done with a 2x2 matrix that is a negated version of the 2x2 identity matrix. Even if you do it with rotate, it's still a matrix internally. Do you know what a matrix is? Probably not. Math class is tough. Barbie said so herself, and she's a reliable source, right?

This text is upside down but not backwards. It looks funny, doesn't it? It's probably hard to read. Can you read it? If so, you may be... upside-down-brained. Or something.
