The term "Breesdale incident" refers to an occurrence which took place involving Auspicious Three member Xciep the Mongoose, during an interview with him and Alan the Mongoose and Peter the Mongoose; the three were respectively the animator of Child Bear, actor who plays the lead character Medium-Sized Purple Riding Hood and director of the film Three Bears and a Wolf. The interview took place in Breesdale, Virgina in the United States.

Events[edit | edit source]

On the 10 November 2009, two days after the worldwide release of the film, but before the release on other planets or solar systems, Xciep, Alan and Peter were asked to do an interview regarding the film. In the introduction, interviewer Jenna Mitchell said the following:

I'm joined now by Xciep, Alan and Peter the mongooses, stars of the new horror movie Three Bears and a Wolf

Various words and phrases which are thought to have angered Xciep are highlighted:

  • mongooses: although this is the standard plural, the Auspicious Three prefer "mongeese"
  • stars: only Alan and Xciep were in the film, the latter only in a minor voice role
  • horror: the violence in the film is supposed to be allegorical, and the producers do not consider it "horror"
  • movie: this is a more American term, British usage prefers "film"

Used alone, these words may have only slightly irked him, but together, they sent him flying full force into the studio wall, destroying hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of electrical equipment, and giving him a heart attack.

He was carted off to hospital, and forced to pay an undisclosed amount of money in medical fees which he says "had between four and seven zeroes at the end".

Aftermath[edit | edit source]

Due to the events, Xciep is banned from the United States, and the Auspicious Three no longer attend interviews or award ceremonies there.

Walnuts and Pears was originally not going to be released in the US, but it later was, because the creators wanted lots of money.
