Forum:Illogicopedia site promotion
In an effort to reach as high a userbase as possible, I reckon we all ought to start spreading the word of Illogicopedia more actively. Come on, it'll be fun... if everyone does one of these things then we're sure to rake in the newbies.
- To start us off, there's the Illogicopedia entry at WikiIndex (A wiki directory in wiki format, no less). It'd be nice if, every so often, one of our users updates the page. I know with this it's mainly article count but it could be nice if we had a bit of a beefier article.
- Similarly, I recently created an entry for Illogicopedia.org at AboutUs. Don't ask me why it's named "IllogicoPedia", the database listed it that way. Some goes for this, it'd be nice for some users to make our blurb more attractive to anyone who may stumble across the page.
- Every so often, somebody asks "are there wikis other than Wikipedia?" on Yahoo Answers. Check the Wikipedia category there and redirect people accordingly (you need a Yahoo account)! It's small fry, I know, but every little helps.

- If you have a blog, be sure to include an entry about Illogic and maybe the Illogiblog. We could even arrange some sort of a featured site for your blog.
- Post on forums - tell people a bit about us and use the Illogicopedia banners. Don't go spamming though, we don't want a bad reputation!
- I know a lot of you have already done this, but tell your friends about this weird site you found, maybe give them a link to a page you think they will be interested in (preferably a feature or something).
- Create promotional videos and put em on YouTube, MySpace videos, Google vids, Veoh etc. It'd be cool to have a video creation competition, the one that best advertises Illogicopedia wins! Then, we could spam that vid in forums too.
- Create Digg/Delicious accounts and add articles to that.

Well, these are mainly Internet-based, I know. But I get the feeling that's where our market is.

Well... I told my friend about Illogicopedia and well... He doesn't know wiki coding that well.... He didn't know that you weren't supposed to make your articles your userpage.... Dotdotdot..... Here: User:The magic man. I'm tryin' to get my friend who's better at learning simple things like coding to get on it....
