For those who can't handle the real truth, the spinners of fake truth at Wikipedia have a thoroughly boring article on Hiphopotamus.

HipHopotamus is a live hip hop/rock band from Tulsa, Oklahoma. It started in late 2006 with members of other Tulsa bands that had broke up. It consists of 2 hip hop hippotamuses, a DJ, a monkey on drums, and one bling-bling singing rhinoceros. They are especially popular in local zoos, but have been banned from several taverns and pubs due to incidents where a band member fell through the stage while dancing and jumping. Fortunately, nobody was injured in these incidents since hippopotamii and rhinos have very tough, thick skins.

Two of the band members were previously in the jazz band "Goodbye Mind", where they rampaged insane with saxophones and keyboards until the zoo captured them.

This is how they happened to meet up, and formed the hip hop band post-incarceration. The band has won awards in Walrusa 2008 and NambyPanda 2007, and will soon be featured in an article in Zoo Music Weekly. SNORT-SPLASH-ROAR!
