Liu Kang is injured.

You perform a deadly ki blast. Summoning up all the "HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAs" and "GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHs" within you, you let loose a burst of anime-powered lightning that strikes Liu Kang in the face melt. He counterattacks by swinging his feet wildly at you, but you dodge and flip him over.

He proceeds to get back up, yells, "TEST YOUR MIGHT!", and runs at you, and swings his foot, followed by punching you in the nose. You quickly recover from this blow by airdodging and rolling, and then find yourself on opposite sides of the arena once again, with the advantage.
