A mother from Lincoln has spoken of her disgust after a video game, bought for her eight year old son, contained a string of "rude words". Tanya Carrington was horrified to learn that this adaptation of the popular board game Scrabble allowed words such as "ass" (for which the definition was given as "a donkey") and "cock" (described as a "male chicken"), which she claims are "wholly unsuitable for such a game".

You can imagine my horror when the computerised opponent in the game played the words "tits" and "dicks" in successive turns. I checked, and the words "faggot" and "gay" are also in the game's dictionary. It's just disgraceful that a game aimed at children would include such nasty, dirty words never at all used in any other context than swearing.

Carrington emailed the game's makers three months ago but still hasn't received a reply. "It's like they don't b***** care about one mother concerned about her f****** child's well-being," piped Carrington on Current Affairs show Newsnight. "This stuff is polluting Little Ethan's fragile f****** mind!"

I liked it because I thought it was cool and had words like I heard on Chucklevision like "bullocks" and "fag".

Little Ethan Carrington was back watching CITV that very evening, but his mother was charged with drunk and disorderly behaviour after giving Jeremy Paxman a bruise. The case is expected to run for a whole two days whilst Carrington attempts to raise the bail money, after which everyone will forget about it and get on with their lives.
