Epics are articles of usually lengthy material and original prose. They often contain some sort of storyline and are part of the illogilution "improve your articles" drive. Epics are a requirement of the top rank of the Order of the Paperclip.

Pointers to making an Epic[edit | edit source]

  • Epic articles only need to be long if you feel it is required to convey the final message of the epic
  • Keep it original; a page of boring tripe is not an interesting read. Remember, epics are supposed to be pages that people want to read.
  • Only write about something you feel strongly about. Don't write for the sake of it. With an epic, you have to feel that what you are writing is needed, and can't be done without.
  • Remember, epics don't have to be insanely random; they have to display some sort of hidden meaning in the form of parables, or give some sort of message.
  • A good example of an epic would be The Incredible Adventures of Melville Amsterdam and the Collapsible Ironing Board.

Use of the EPIC template[edit | edit source]

  • To officially make an article an EPIC, you must add the template {{EPIC}} or {{EPIC2}}. The first template, {{EPIC}}, gives you a full bodied EPIC template, that, while looking impressive, is glaringly obvious. The second template, {{EPIC2}}, is more compact, and to one side.
