Phantoms are the rollback people of the wiki. This means they can quickly revert vandal edits with a special linky thing awarded to them by the status. When you rollback, the edit summary would say: "Ghosted edits by $1 to last revision by #2". Santa I say!
Users can become phantoms by winning Illogicopedian of the Month just once. This is no mean feat, more of a kindly feat which garners the support of your fellow man. And woman. Well, maybe just your family.

The main privilege of a Phantom is the ability to self-nominate articles at VFF without undergoing the process of review. Phantoms keep this privilege forever (or at least until there is another vote review).
