WKML Broadcast Station was a Numbers Station built in the small rural area just outside of Washington D.C in the remains of what was once the U.S.A, after the Great War. Constructed by the Enclave not too long after the nuclear holocaust, it existed purely to broadcast the Signal Kilo Bravo message on a loop. The purpose of the signal was to alert a government operator located at MC-2 that contact between the two systems was indeed available. If for whatever reason the connection between the Raven Rock facility was lost, the message would not continue to loop. Next to the broadcasting station is a small base, which contains the skeleton of a former radio operator with a Ham Radio and some food. The man was employed with the task of making sure the equipment did not glitch or (in the very unlikely case that it would) get Hacked by an outside force. However, he died of a Heart Attack in 2034, but the station would continue running well past it was needed. When the Lone Wanderer arrived in 2078, the station was still running.

Kilo Bravo[edit | edit source]

The signal, a .CW/10.21 Megahertz wave transmission, is written in Morse Code and repeated on a loop. One listener in Allister block complained to MC Radio after the signal randomly interrupted the news. Since then, several people at the receiving end of the broadcasting vicinity have managed to receive the broadcast. Some have taken note and told of it on the Internet. The message in writing appears as -.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.. . / -.- -... -.- -... -.- -... -... This signal, "CQ CQ CQ DE / KB KB KB K", means the following:

Calling station.
Message test has worked.
From WKML Signal Kilo Bravo.
Back to you, over.
