A pre-war photograph of Vault 2. It is still intact to this day.

Vault 2 is one of the Vault-Tec Vaults, and was the ninteenth one built. Construction began in 1986 and ended in 2004. Located in Manchester United, which is in the country of Great Britain, it was built with every amenity needed to keep a whole society happy, healthy and entertained for up to twenty years, in the case of a Nuclear War. There are full, functioning Restaurants, rec-rooms, Pool halls, Movie Theaters and even Bars down there, just waiting to be used. It also featured several large Computers, which controlled issues like creating water and producing Vault Jumpsuits. It was one of the largest vaults; indeed, it was big enough to hold up to 1,500 people. Most vaults could only hold up to a third of that amount, with the exeptions being Vault 13 in Zawonia on Leipzig and Vault 27 in North America.

When the Great War occured, about 1,300 people entered the Vault. With the initiation of Operation DrEAma and with Earth being declared in a state of civil war, the populace left the bunker after just five weeks inside it. However, the Vault continued to run. During WWIV, they were used by codebreakers, soldiers, bomb-squads and medics. But when the war ended, it was pretty much abandoned. When people began to populate earth with the beginning of Project Green Flag, Vault 2 was bought by British Telecom, a United Kingdom/Europe-based phone company. The area is open to the public; however, it is open to the public to wander around. Some Squatters now occupy some of the living quarters. In 2046, it was bought by an old businessman as a second home who prefered to remain anonymous, to the tune of $14 million.
