Was was was.

Was, short for 'what is', is the integral first part of the sentence 'Was gan on?'. This is considered by all the only intelligent way to ask for an assessment of your current situation. Other phrasings such as 'what's happening here?' and 'I say what the devil is going on old bean?' are looked down upon by society as a crass lyrical waxing, and their users put forth to shame and ridicule. As Was wasn't thought up until very recently the question had previously been stuck at 'gan on?', which left many people wondering why the questioner would be asking for a cannon made of gammon. This famously led to the incident where when asking his advisors as to how the war was going Hitler was misinterpreted and the whole German budget got spunked on meat cannons, costing him the war.
