Trapped in an Elevator!!!!! AAAAAH!!!!

It began like any other day. Tim Biffins woke up promptly at 5:30 in the morning to the sound of his alarm clock. He got up, got dressed, and ran out into the street. He called a taxi, which rocketed to #56 Thirty-Third Street, which was where he worked.

He worked in the basement of an office building. His job was to sit and stare at an office stapler all day, to make sure it didn't burst into flames spontaneously. It was a very important job. In fact, the success of his office building depended on it--if a stapler were to burst into flames spontaneously, without Biffins there to notice, the stapler would be destroyed. The company would be forced into the terrible situation of being forced to buy a new stapler, which could cut into their profits by a whole 5 dollars.

So Tim was very proud of his job in the basement of the building. When he got there, he saw an electrician walking out of the building. "What are you doing here?" he asked the mechanic. I mean electrician.

"I just finished installing a new elevator," said the electrician. "It works beautifully. But it only goes up. I'll be adding the "down" button tomorrow. Incidentally, this is foreshadowing."

"An elevator that only goes up!" said Tim, "But I work on the bottom floor! How inconvenient! I'll be forced to take the stairs!"

This agitated Tim slightly. He was even more agitated when he arrived at the staircase, only to see that it was blocked by a sign that said: STAIRCASE BROKEN. PLEASE TAKE ELEVATOR.

"Curses!" said Tim out loud, "I guess I'll just get in the elevator and keep going up. Hopefully the cable will snap and I'll plummet to the right floor. And hopefully the elevator will NOT freeze due to some sort of mechanical failure, forcing me to have a spinechilling psychological adventure whilst trapped inside!"

He walked into the elevator, and pressed a button. The elevator rocketed upwards to the top floor. The doors opened and Tim stepped out.

"Wait..." said Tim aloud, "the elevator WORKS! I didn't get trapped inside! Damn! Well, so much for an EPIC!"

He waited for the mechanic to get back, took the elevator down to the basement, and went to work. Nothing out of the ordinary happened. Ever.

THE END!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!
