Amblyaudia, or lazy ear, is an auditory condition where usually one ear is suppressed. It may sound like everyone has a lisp. Amblyaudia itself isn't contagious, but the amblyopia that caused it and the lisp it causes it are.
Causes[edit | edit source]
Amblyaudia can be caused by amblyopia spreading from the eye to the ear.
Symptoms[edit | edit source]
- Hearing that sounds like everybody has a lisp.
- Lisp
- Ears that don't seem to work together
- Poor results on hearing screening tests
- Head tilt
Treatment[edit | edit source]
Amblyaudia can be treated by wearing an ear-patch on the stronger ear so the weaker ear works harder.
