Forum:All long-term non-vandals for phantoms

A long time ago, members were made "Phantoms" (basically given rollback ability) much more quickly and readily. Mainly, it makes it quicker to counteract vandalism, and I can't think of any drawback for giving it to basically all non-vandals who stick around. (In the modern age of mobile browing, the feature can more easily be misclicked, but a mis-rollback is quickly rolled back.) --Fluffalizer 15:17, 6 Aym 2021 (UTC)

What should we consider "long-term", though? Like, a year, or a year-and-a-half of consistent activity? (counting off for summer break) I'm not opposed to the idea though. I think it's great.

I think such a subjective measure would work and could even just be, "done enough that the pattern is obviously not that of a vandal and seems basically good". E.g. someone editing very actively for a month may quickly turn out basically constructive, and someone editing just a little now and then, coming and going, ending up noticed for some good edits after a year also qualifies. --Fluffalizer 19:34, 6 Aym 2021 (UTC)

No. I've just been immersed in RationalWiki for a time, and there they do something similar, except they take it even further and recruit a vast, sometimes unruly mob of sysops to combat vandalism (leading to the need for a few moderators to manage them when they become like a herd of cats where hissing and growling grows in volume). --Fluffalizer 11:38, 7 Aym 2021 (UTC)
