Illogicopedia:Wisdom Abuse
Wisdom Abuse is a partially competitive prospective gameshow, held in Illogicopedia. Rather than using a voting system (primarily, at least; see Exile & Diplomatic Immunity), gruelling tasks are given to the competitors. Every so often, additional tasks may be given; some required, some optional.
Basic Rules[edit | edit source]
Each day, one should generally look to this page for today's tasks; should you fail to complete them, or fail to solve them, then you will be taken out of the game. However, you can still participate in the game as a phantom; in doing this, you can make life hard for a specific player by assigning them an additional task (randomly decided by the game's current Master; see below).
Tasks, for example, could be:
- Find the exact number of uses of a certain word in a category of articles;
- Count the For votes in VFH or VFD;
- A multitude of others.
Masters[edit | edit source]
Masters are the current game's leader; they give out tasks, assign teams in secret (see Teams & IRC dependency, below), and do other neat stuff. Headmaster Asema oversees the vote for next game's master. Obviously, the master cannot also be a participant.
Teams & IRC Dependency[edit | edit source]
Teams (red, green, and blue) are revealed when a player is kicked out of the game. In game, they are secretive houses vying for control of the Illogiment. The objective of the game is to pull through until your team is the last one standing; this, to be precise, is 'survival of the fittest' forced by the master in an attempt to decide Illogia's fate once and for all. In this, the game's name holds; the tasks get increasingly harder, and it eventually becomes a struggle to stay in the game (if only, in some cases, for the sheer number of tasks).
IRC is used to report your answers to the tasks to the GM, to discuss who may be on what team, and so on. The problem is, you don't know who your teammates ARE!
Exile & Diplomatic Immunity[edit | edit source]
Exile is a condition in which the majority of players vote for someone to be taken out of the game; when this is done, their house is revealed, and they may choose a dramatic exit if they so please.
Diplomatic immunity, likewise, is achieved (and achievable only if there are optional tasks) by completing all of the optional tasks. Only one person can be immunized; first come, first serve. You will not immediately know if you're immune; and you may never, for it only applies if you are voted out (in which case, your sleeves are rolled and everyone knows your house, but other than that, you stay in the game).
Players[edit | edit source]
Anyone can join, at any time, as games may run for quite a while. However, only long-term players will enjoy the benefits of Diplomatic Immunity; you cannot have diplomatic immunity until after 4 days of being in the game.
My Reason For Doing This[edit | edit source]
Not to compete with Big Brrother, but rather to offer even more community-based gaming. The system, I hope, is not too horribly complex, but them's the breaks.
Thank you, and good night (or morning, here). ----Sir Asema Politics Complaint Inbox or Outbox
