What about rice noodles? ~ *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20100908 - 04:11 (UTC)
- Rice noodles are ok, but bland without soy sauce. Can you believe they put wheat in soy sauce? I'm gonna have to ask my nutritionist tomorrow about exactly *how* intolerant my system is, its not a true allergy, just an intolerance. Thanksgiving will be interesting though, since I have a diabetic aunt, my sister can't eat soy, and my dad's on a low sodium diet. simsilikesims 01:35, 9 Serpeniver 2010 (UTC)
- All soy sauce? What about other sauces, though? There be other sauces. And if it's just an intolerance, why not just ignore it? How bad could it be?
- And that sounds like my family, except we're also all just picky. Seriously, though, boiled stuff is disgusting. ~ *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20100909 - 03:20 (UTC)
- Most gravies are made from flour, though it is also possible to make them from corn starch. For most sauces, I'm supposed to read labels. I'd ignore it, but I need a job and can't get one in food service while the chronic case of the runs continues. I'd rather not work food service, but that seems to be the remaining jobs lately. That and sales, and I'm not good enough at sales to work on commission only. I'd be good at customer service or data entry, but those jobs in my area are all for temporary employment firms that never call me back once I sign up for them, even if I check in with them weekly. simsilikesims 06:58, 9 Serpeniver 2010 (UTC)
- Eww, I hate flour gravy. It's so... floury. *shudders* Corn starch is ever so much better. I might go so far as to call it civilised... say, why not just get whoever's cooking to make civilised gravy, eh? You could also make your own sauces, no? Most of the ingredients, after all, are entirely optional... although I've found that black bean paste isn't quite right without the black beans, so actually...
- Oh dear. So no other fields of work available, either? Why won't they call you back, do you know? Or do they just hate you? Folks tend to hate me on sight, too. ~ *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20100909 - 16:17 (UTC)
- They claim there are more applicants than jobs, recession, blah blah blah. And now Forbes magazine suggests that to create jobs without raising taxes, the minimum wage should be done away with. Riiiiiiiight, then nobody will be able to afford essentials like health care, housing, food, and transportation. I suppose next they'll be suggesting that we reinstate multi-year contracts and go back to indentured servitude. Oh, and I suppose they'll want to reinstate debtor's prison, too. simsilikesims 03:36, 10 Serpeniver 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm... that sounds like the sort of thing that would raise taxes, anyway. Folks not being able to afford stuff leads to necessary welfare and/or castigation, usually in the form of fines or imprisonment, and since the fines cannot be paid, will that not lead to the latter anyhow? And what pays for that, eh? Taxes.
- But some folks will try anything, if they can get away with it. Real question is if the other folks will be... urg, what's the word? It... ugh, it's gone. Gorrammit. ~ *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20100910 - 04:08 (UTC)
