Oh my gosh, working math tags: Nose Collection II: The Spamming

Oh I get it -- it can't make new math images, it can only show existing ones from preexisting <math> instances. No, that's probably not the answer.

the lazy dog.

This works.

After the 1.31 update, math works again and it's awesome.

Deletion and block log entries are no longer customized. The messages displayed are at MediaWiki:Logentry-delete-delete and MediaWiki:Logentry-block-block, but the custom messages are at MediaWiki:Deletedarticle and MediaWiki:Blocklogentry. The update changed this. (I don't remember ever seeing the custom deletion text.)

Featured article excerpts go at Template:Featured.

I can't change my user rights to remove the redundant group. It says "The expiry time for group "sysop" is invalid." What?

I did it through Special:ApiSandbox.

In Vector the "delete page" button is red like the one on the Wikipedia block form, but the "block this user" button isn't. You need 1.31 and up for that.

flipped text[edit | edit source]

There is a page called "ʇxǝʇ pǝddılɟ", but it is now inaccessible because after some update or other the software wants to capitalize the first letter. Attempting to access that page takes one to a version of the title beginning with the character "Ʇ" (looks like a tiny box with "A7B1" for me, but I assume it's meant to look like a capital turned T). The page is not actually located at that title -- it still internally has the lowercase turned t. It shows up in categories, searches and user contributions, and diffs and oldids are still accessible (e.g.), but the page itself cannot be accessed or modified in any way. I tried to move it both through Special:MovePage/ʇxǝʇ pǝddılɟ and Special:ApiSandbox and was unsuccessful. First I tried the title, then I tried the page ID which I found through the first revision ID, and both of those gave me error messages. With the second it said something obscure about the sha1 being empty.

I don't know what to do.

It thinks I can edit old revisions. I'm afraid to try.

current revision

But you can still revdel its revisions. [1]

You can also do this.

hmm

Oh wow I moved it, amazing. I guess it had to have an edit made after the page became unrecognized. Now let's see about the subpage and talk page.

Deleted pages problem[edit | edit source]

On Special:Undelete/Forum:The Hate List, every deleted revision obviously belongs to a different page, usually different from the other revisions as well (except for the first two "revisions", which look like account creation log entries in some kind of internal PHP format). I think I've seen this problem before, but I forget which deleted page it was.

Special:Undelete/The Hate List as well.

A quick spot check of the deletion log suggests strongly that all deleted revisions of pages deleted in 2012 and earlier are corrupted, except for those deleted in 2007 which have no deleted history at all. This diff is a special level of bad. Must be the move off Carlb's server that did it.

I looked at that diff again, and I just realized they're not account creation log entries. They're abuse filter log entries. Those are abuse filter variables. That explains exactly nothing.

It's an actual diff, between two revisions of the same page, except it's contained in a single "revision" and encoded in an internal format.
