How to Change Your Cursor on Windows[edit | edit source]
Step 1: Open Terminal, and type "control mouse". This will open Mouse Properties.
Step 2: Click on "Pointers". For the sake of time, let's just change Normal Select for now.
Step 3: Click "Browse". To see cursors you've downloaded from Cursormania/Cursors-4U, change the location you look in - above the list of files, there's a dropdown menu. In this menu, go to Downloads.
Step 4: Here you'll see the cursors you've downloaded. Choose which cursor you want to use and click "Open". Be sure you click "Apply" for your cursor to appear on the screen.
And Voila!
Important: Note that only files with types "Cursor" (.cur files) and "Animated Cursor" (.ani files) can be used as cursors. If you want to use a cursor from the Cursormania Archive, you'll have to use a .cur file converter. I have one I use here.
- Actually, be careful when converting these - I tested the rainbow pride flag cursor from the archive and the space between the red stripe and the top-right arrow is NOT transparent like it should be. I'll have to look into it and possibly find a different converter.
