Awareness Awareness Month is an observance held each Febtober in which diverse groups of people all come together to be more aware of awareness. They don't really do anything and they're not even promoting awareness of anything in particular. In the words of one event organizer, "It's just about awareness in general." It is closely inter-related with several other observances:

  • Awareness Awareness Awareness Month: held the previous month, this observance raises awareness for the upcoming Awareness Awareness Month.
  • Awareness Month Awareness Month: a month-long observance for awareness of awareness months in general, not just Awareness Awareness Month specifically.
  • Anti-Awareness Months Awareness Month: an observance instituted by opponents of awareness months in an attempt to defeat them because of their total banality and pointlessness. It failed, due to eating itself.
  • Dead People Awareness Month: promoted by the Helping Kids Die of Horrible Diseases Foundation, this observance reminds people to be aware of death, because it will happen to you.
  • Who I Sleep With Awareness/Pride Month: an attempt by LGBTTQQFAGPBDSMWXYZ+ activists to encourage straight people to put the qualifier "straight" before anything they do or say about themselves. That way, it doesn't sound so incredibly shallow and awkward whenever LGBTTQQFAGPBDSMWXYZ+ people do it, as if who they slept with was their primary identifying characteristic in life and nothing else about them mattered.
  • God Hates Fags Awareness Month: an invention of the Westboro Baptist Church, which worships it's leader Fred Phelps as the highest god, to remind people that Fred Phelps hates fags. Which he does.

All of these have their own awareness ribbons which no one understands or can keep straight. But as long as you're involved somehow in promoting awareness of something, you're doing something good to change the world. Don't question it. That's for fags. Or homophobes. Whichever sounds more insulting to you.
