Athens was almost destroyed by some hairy guy from Sparta shouting "THIISSS IS SPPPPPPPPPARRRRRRRRRTAAAAAAAA!". 90% of the city was destroyed by his voice. The war lasted 1,000,000,000,000 Yottayears.

The Republic was overthrown by the new Galactic Empire of the Persians in 1000 AD. After the Persians deleted Mars from the Universe, everyone from Mars had to move to Athens because Martians were banned from the rest of the globe.

During Roman rule under Thomas the Tank Engine, Athens was ruled by Sonic. Carl Sagan built a giant bicycle to ride from China to planet WASP4-B. However, he accidentally killed king Sonic when the hydrogen wheel crushed him into a pulp. After Sonic was killed, Sonic was the new king.
