Festival of Nothing
The Festival of Nothing takes place every year during Elephant Veneration Day in the Illogian provinces. The purpose of this festival is to show gratitude for the immense amount of nothing that exists in our cities and present-day lives. Usually the celebrations involve exchanging gifts of nothing and holding contests to see who can create the best nothing, judged by a celebrity chef with highly trained senses.
However, during preparation for the festival last year, some complications arose as there had been significantly less nothing in the various districts than before. This forced contestants partaking in the contest to attempt to improvise by submitting creations such as nothing with a side of cabbage, and pineapple upside-down nothing.
One of the highest-ranking entries of that year was the highly ingenious 'water', for which the recipe was 'nothing, add water'. A close contender was the popular dirt, made on a similar principle of 'dirt, add nothing'. After several hours of intense competition, the creators of both pieces made a compromise and joined forces to produce fan favourite, dirty water.
