Forum:My recent trip to Mexico

OK, so this thread is exactly what it says on the tin - when one person goes on a fitless trip to Mexico for no other reason, accompanied by his trusty pet cat Ingredient, a lot of stuff happens. Like, for the first thing, the guy sitting next to me on the plane (London Heathrow - Mexico City) had an allergy to cat hair and so we had to land late at 5 minutes. In Monterrey, I narrowly escaped lodging a moped in my left nostril, and in Oaxaca I slipped on an ornate patterned blanket made by a local. That said local made me pay for it. 400 pesos?! Anyone had similar travel experiences? XY007 ⊡ talk ⊡ contributions 04:20, 18 Arply 2015 (UTC)
- Dude I know Oaxaca like the back of my hand. Been going there every year since i was 4. 2+2=5
- Oh and BTW 400 pesos is a steal for a handmade blanket. I have 6 or 7 so far.
- When I go to Mexico, it is a completely different experience every time i go there. One time you could hear gunshots from 1 mile away to 1 yard away, another time you could go out in the streets w/o a bullet proof vest whilst being escorted by the Mexican Police just to cross the street and back, and one time, I found what can only be described as real life...sjink. I freaking swear to God if sjink were real, it would be the stuff i stumbled upon. Then again, they use tripe and brain and tongue and eyeballs and liver and hooves and neck and lungs and sjink. I hope you go back there again!
- Very nice. I flew British Airways. XY007 ⊡ talk ⊡ contributions 04:34, 18 Arply 2015 (UTC)
- Also if 400 pesos was really cheap, maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought. I'm not really familiar with foreign exchange rates, and didn't have much Mexican money because in the cities, you can usually get buy on US$. BTW I never used that blanket, instead giving it to my pet cat. XY007 ⊡ talk ⊡ contributions 04:40, 18 Arply 2015 (UTC)
- As of today, $1 = 17.56 pesos.
- Oh yes OK. So I have a very smart cat. By 'very smart' I mean that this cat has read 1984 in full, and is now reading Jane Eyre. Wow eh? Also, the cat's name legally is Samuel, but I call it Ingredient. Don't know why I do, I just do. XY007 ⊡ talk ⊡ contributions 05:14, 18 Arply 2015 (UTC)
- I have read all of John Steinbeck's work. Fahrenheit 451 changed my life. 2+2=5
- My cat read that book too. XY007 ⊡ talk ⊡ contributions 05:31, 18 Arply 2015 (UTC)
