Despite my young age, I have the hardest time understanding the hyper-consumerist mentalities of American youth. 01:56, 22 Ergust 2018 (UTC)
- The swag fad must have been almost before your time. I didn't understand it either. CG098 (talk ₪ contribs) 02:47, 22 Ergust 2018 (UTC)
- I was in my early adolescence when it came around. Given the malleability of my mind due to an underdeveloped frontal lobe, I could have been susceptible to the sudden explosion of brand-name vanity, but I'm not keen on being defined by the brands I wear (well, I was actually really into Banana Republic at that time) and I definitely wasn't keen on adopting the toxic demeanor that typically accompanied it.
- I would wear a flat cap any given day, though. Unlike snapbacks emblazoned with massive logos, flat caps are freaking timeless and they go with everything that I wear. 03:14, 22 Ergust 2018 (UTC)
- So middle school? CG098 (talk ₪ contribs) 03:40, 22 Ergust 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, the astoundingly vacuous institution of middle school. 17:48, 22 Ergust 2018 (UTC)
- Hmm, I'm guessing that 2+2=5, living in Los Angeles, sees this kind of rubbish every single day. XY007 (talk - contribs - business) 05:17, 22 Ergust 2018 (UTC)
- Not every day, but it's definitely on a semi-consistent basis. You find it in the highest and the lowest of places.
- The swag thing, I think, was an inhibitor of psychological maturity. It perhaps still is. 17:48, 22 Ergust 2018 (UTC)
- I agree. I see it sometimes in public places, and I find the urge to walk away quickly (but not running, because that's too obvious). XY007 (talk - contribs - business) 22:46, 22 Ergust 2018 (UTC)
