I don't understand the stigma against welcome templates. New users will pay attention to a big box and it's much easier than simply writing out "hi" (and a few useless lines) which gives them absolutely no information whatsoever. If you're not gonna use a template at least tell them the links on the templates.--Ben ^Blade 11:47, 5 Yoon 2010 (UTC)

I remember when I joined, TReich and Bob welcomed me with a "hi" and whatnot. I remembered them. Bob was one of my favorite fellow users for a while and I talked to TReich a lot as a noob. Elassiant on the other hand, welcomed me with a template. Guess who I forgot was even a users and can't even spell his freaking name. 'nuff said. --T3 23:49, 5 Yoon 2010 (UTC)
