~ Dutch on colonisation

Dutchification is the process of turning things Dutch. This process can work on all sorts of things, abstract, concrete, etcetera. Many Dutch people try to dutchify as much as they can. Living in a flat country, if they are on holiday in mountainous regions abroad, often these regions are flat as a pan cake by the time the visiting Dutch's holidays have ended (see Himalayan plain). Also, when on holiday, they try to convince the local people that they should learn Dutch instead of their vernacular. Mass Dutch tourism to e.g. Surinam, South Africa, Belgium and Indonesia have thus dutchified these parts of the world. French Highways are suspected of dutchification.

In regions that have been dutchified, people often start eating lots of cheese, walk on wooden shoes, build wind mills and do whatever other cliche that is attributed to the Dutch tribal heritage.

One attempt to even dutchify the whole world, was done by Hinniken, who try to make sure that their dutch brand replaces the consumption of real beer worldwide.
