I have totally made like, a new Illogicopedia podcast where I'm like, "like, totally" alot and say silly stuff. http://illogicopedia.podomatic.com/entry/2011-01-13T11_57_13-08_00 --Nerd42 00:28, 13 Jeremy 2011 (UTC)

what's a podcast —rms talk 01:40, 13 Jeremy 2011 (UTC)
It is a clever ploy specifically designed to make people too stupid to look up words they don't understand on Google --Nerd42 01:44, 13 Jeremy 2011 (UTC)
Does it taste funny? ~ Pointy.png 01:50, 13 Jeremy 2011
I am the ultimate noob. I installed xvid which I think was an advert and not the link for the download. Will my computer die? Curse you, internet! DG |Chatty Chaps| 00:04, 17 Jeremy 2011 (UTC)
What is xvid? ~ Pointy.png 00:27, 17 Jeremy 2011

Xvid is "DivX" spelled backwards. Assuming you installed the real Xvid and not some malware dressed up to look like Xvid then you're not haivng any problems. I am not responsible for people who are too stupid to use the Internet screwing up their computer as a result of using ordinary file sharing sites like Sharebee. I have replaced the link which was only temporary till the episode was up on the Illogicast web site. Now it's on the web site. --Nerd42 00:50, 17 Jeremy 2011 (UTC)

What the crap is DivX? And malware? That just sounds weird. Hells, it feels like the 90s all over again, silly acronyms with Xs all over the place, words half shoved together... ~ Pointy.png 01:19, 17 Jeremy 2011
DivX is a video codec. Google terms that you don't understand for the definitions, or check Wikipedia. Malware is software meant to damage your computer including "viruses" "trojans" "worms" "spyware" and unethical forms of "adware" --Nerd42 15:34, 17 Jeremy 2011 (UTC)
Google results tend to be full of bad things. BAD THINGS! But those things you describe all seem incredibly odd. What's the point, even? ~ Pointy.png 16:52, 17 Jeremy 2011
I wish I knew what the point of writing malware was. It's such a waste of someone's potential to create malware. It's like going around setting other people's houses on fire while they're away. If you prefix your term with "define:" as in "define:malware" and put that in Google you get just definitions. --Nerd42 18:57, 17 Jeremy 2011 (UTC)
Phew, it's okay. My computer is not dead, I must have installed the actual Xvid. I uninstalled it, so all is well. Thanks for the warning, I know now in future about dodgy adverts claiming to be the download in this case. DG |Chatty Chaps| 19:27, 17 Jeremy 2011 (UTC)
I find it downright bizarre that you would need to actually manually download and install things yourself... but then again, I also like just being annoying. And Nerd, actually looking things up myself would ruin everything, you hear? It would Ruin Everything.
Also, nice job with the podcast. You're crazy, man. ~ Pointy.png 22:52, 17 Jeremy 2011

Another Nerd42ish episode[edit source]

Listen here! http://www.zshare.net/audio/91762359648b7467/

Hopefully Hindleyite should get it up on the official podcast account soon but until then you can listen at zshare --Nerd42 23:45, 22 Yoon 2011 (UTC)

The third episode now up on Podomatic. Superb work as usual, Nerd!
There may also be some more to come, as I heard Darkgenome was thinking of doing one by himself. Don't know where he's at with that, but I should get off my formidable backside and get recording as well. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 11:19, 23 Yoon 2011 (UTC)
