Forum:Repetitive Articles

Something that has always bugged me about this website are the ultra-long articles that are just reptition of a single word or phrase. Take, for example, Kajillion, Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, Moar, Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, and others. All of them are repetition, and they really annoy that crap out of me. I think articles like this should not have to go throught VFD, they should just get a straight QD. But that is just me. Discuss. —rms talk 01:15, 13 Jumbly 2009 (UTC)
- I think that "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" and "Moar" should be deleted. "Kajillion" has a point and if you delete "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" then deleted Repetition. --T3 01:21, 13 Jumbly 2009 (UTC)
- Well, maybe keep Kajillion, but the other three should go. —rms talk 01:25, 13 Jumbly 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think articles like that do any harm. I think part of what makes illogicopedia unique is that we're very mellow about deletion. We tend to accept pretty much everything as long as it's entertaining in some vague way, which is awesome because then there's no pressure on writers. They're free to be as creative as they want. I think repetition articles are fairly entertaining myself, and I'd rather not start deleting them. --THE 11:20, 13 Jumbly 2009 (UTC)
- From a personal point of view, the repetitives aren't too bad but the ones with endless lines of the letter E do cheese me off somewhat. I'd say at least one of those mentioned is bordering on gibberish. -- Hindleyak Converse • ?blog • Click here! 11:35, 13 Jumbly 2009 (UTC)
- Anyways, Moar has moar than just repition. Keep 'em all!
