A riddle. Don't go looking on the Internet for the answer - it's so simple you should get it right away.

Whole ships can fit inside me, yet I am very small.
I have a mouth, but cannot drink with it.
I have a neck, yet cannot stretch it.
What am I?

A Twix wrapper to the first person with the correct answer! -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 13:27, 11 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)

A bucket of wallpaper paste A bottle! next please--Silent Penguin 13:31, 11 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)

Ha, told you it was simple. Here's another, bit harder this time.

What goes around the world but stays in a corner?

-- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 13:56, 11 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)

A cricket match! No, erm. A mon-donkey! Gee this one is hard. Is it an email? Darkgenome 18:26, 20 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)
A stamp? Or the north pole? Jезка 20:45, 20 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)
Phileas Fogg when he's depressed? Jезка 22:21, 20 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)
Correct, J - it is indeed a stamp, though I thought the North Pole (and also the Phileas Fogg one, for that matter) was a good answer too. A Lion bar wrapper is on its way, and probably a new riddle when I can be bothered posting one. Yataaaaah! -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 22:35, 20 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)
Ahem, I was to understand that I was to be getting a Twix wrapper. What gives? If I'd known I'd be getting a Lion bar wrapper I'd have never of taken part... Jезка 22:44, 20 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, dude - the Twix wrapper went to Seppy. Also, another difficult riddle for you all:
Pronounced as one letter,
And written with three,
Two letters there are,
And two only in me.
I'm double, I'm single,
I'm black, blue, and gray,
I'm read from both ends,
And the same either way.
What am I?

Took me a while to get this one. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 22:49, 20 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)

Awwww, I was looking forward to that Twix. I've seen this one before so I won't spoil it for everyone else. Can I do the next one? Jезка 22:51, 20 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)
I have absolutely no idea. A carrot? --THE 01:03, 21 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)

You use your mouth to get it started and then it goes again and again and again, though towards the end it always get softer. What is it? Jезка 13:17, 21 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)

My neighbor's nose. Actually an echo. But I wanted to say my neighbor's nose. Did I get it right? ~ ReadMeSoon!? The Desperate Book nose nose

Or make someone faint.

It' easy. ~ ReadMeSoon!? The Desperate Book 18:46, 22 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, I was going to say Chlorine gas (Cl2) but then I remembered I'm on Illogicopedia, so I'm going to go with smelly farts. Actually my farts sometimes leave me light headed to the point of passing out; I have to be careful. ^_^ Jезка 19:28, 22 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)
Eh... I think you should stick with the first one... ~ ReadMeSoon!? The Desperate Book 19:34, 22 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)
Haha! You've got me on this one then, if it's not farts I've no idea. I'll give it some more thought. Jезка 19:45, 22 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)
You already said it man. ~ ReadMeSoon!? The Desperate Book 19:59, 22 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)

Frrrresh riddle for you, which I actually stole from the internet. Still, a nice little not-too-tricky one...

What comes once in a minute, twice in a moment, but never in a thousand years?

-- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 21:29, 27 Novelniver 2008 (UTC)

Did you just ask that? Man, that's so easy. Ahem. It's... THE LETTER M!!!!! ~ ReadMeSoon!? The Desperate Book Oh yeah i got it!

SOME ONE GO ALREADY! ~ ReadMeSoon!? The Desperate Book GO GO GO!

Sorry for the delay on these! A couple from my memory bank and one from tinternet. Again, not too tricky...

  1. A woman has 7 children, half of them are boys. How can this be possible?
  2. An excavator in Cirencester unearthed what seemed to be a Roman coin with Caesar's head and "50BC" inscribed on it. Excited, he took it to be valued but was told it was definitely fake: in fact the valuer told the man to "stop wasting his time". How was this?
  3. You are driving a bus. At the first stop, three men and a woman get on. At the next stop, the woman gets off and another three old ladies get on. Two stops later, a man and his dog get on whilst two old ladies and two men get off. Got that? Right. What colour are the driver's eyes, and why?

-- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 13:14, 8 Ditzimber 2008 (UTC)

I've heard all of these before! Well, the first one I hadn't but the others were easy. For number one: well, I didn't know actually! Number two: Time was not measured in BC AD etc. in Roman times, muchless before the birth of Christ. Numbah Three: In this case, since I am the driver and I have blue eyes, the drivers eyes would be blue. HA! Oh yeah, that picture is crappy but i just had to whip somethin up quick and upload it. ~ 01:28, 9 Ditzimber 2008 (UTC)
OOH! I got it. The Women has four boys and three girls. When you said "half of them are boys" you were counting the women as well. Do I get a cookie?--Fishalishalish 03:43, 9 Ditzimber 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, RMS, the second and third were quite common, no surprise you got them straight away. You didn't need to provide proof, but thanks anyway :D
Nice thinking, Fish, I didn't think of that one, ain't the answer I'm looking for, though. Let's say that "exactly half her children are male" to be more precise :) Come to think of it, that first question is a bit devious, and isn't entirely fair. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 18:54, 9 Ditzimber 2008 (UTC)
Eh, five of them are boys? Then there would be half, but it never said anything about excess. ~ 05:26, 12 Ditzimber 2008 (UTC)
I'm gonna draw this one to a close, because looking back it was a bit of a stupid question. Last time I trust some half-assed riddles website. RMS, you can have half a point for this, as the actual answer was that all of them are boys. Fish, you can have a half too! Added 'em to the scores list... -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 14:31, 12 Ditzimber 2008 (UTC)

Alright! I have a gipping lead! Now, erm, let's see here.

What goes into water red and comes out black?

Give it a shot, eh? ~ 21:07, 13 Ditzimber 2008 (UTC) Em... A newspaper? --T3

Eh, no. ~ 03:12, 14 Ditzimber 2008 (UTC)
lobster? Jезка 13:13, 16 Ditzimber 2008 (UTC)
Wait that would be the other way round. Something black that's been painted red? Something on fire, coal? Jезка 13:16, 16 Ditzimber 2008 (UTC)
That's really close! I'll give it to you, the answer was a red hot poker, but coal will do. ~ 00:12, 22 Ditzimber 2008 (UTC)

2010: Riddle Resurrection[edit source]

Yeah, it's been over a year, but anyway, here's another pinched from somewhere (probably Monty Python or something), retold here in a horrible and sketchy manner.

In the days of Arthurian legend, many a knight would set off in search of a kidnapped maid. But can you tell me, fellow Illogicopedian, which maid follows night?

It's well easy, so you shouldn't need the Internet for this one (cheater!). -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 19:11, 16 Farbleum 2010 (UTC)

The Spanish one that cleans my house that I pay less than minimum wage. But don't tell the proper authorities. Actually, the answer is Day. At least I think so. If not I'm utterly embarrassed. By the way, can I do the next one? --T3 22:44, 16 Farbleum 2010 (UTC)
Sure thing, T3, but unfortunately on this occasion your answer was wrong. Please hang up and try again. Beep. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 13:33, 17 Farbleum 2010 (UTC)
Okay. I'll go with my second answer! MORNING! (that better be right). --T3 00:06, 18 Farbleum 2010 (UTC)
Sorry dude, wrong again. I ain't gonna post any clues just yet cos I want to give one or two other people a chance first. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 12:31, 18 Farbleum 2010 (UTC)

I know this one! It's the maid that follows behind the knight and picks up all of the horse dung he leaves behind. —rms talk 15:33, 18 Farbleum 2010 (UTC)

FI, I believe you are in serious need of some brain medication. Unfortunately Seppy fed my supply of the stuff to some seagulls, otherwise I would have lent you some.
Back on topic - the riddle. Does anyone know, or even care? :P -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 11:50, 25 Farbleum 2010 (UTC)
