Forum:VFF is a Mess

From Illogicopedia

As I've been trying to do my part in returning Illogicopedia to it's former glory (read: I have nothing to do this summer), I see the current state of VFF as an eyesore. There are articles still nominated from 2011. Think about how long ago that was. That's a travesty. In addition, it seems like no one votes regularly like they used to.

Now, normally, with any other problem on Illogicopedia, I would attempt to spearhead and fix it entirely by myself, but I am unable this time. Firstly, only admins can make determinations on VFF votes, so I physically cannot do that. Secondly, I cannot hack into everyone else's computers and make them vote for or against nominated articles. What I can do is politely ask for an admin to close old, low-scoring VFH's or just make me an admin already, and for any active users to at least read the articles nominated and vote for or against.

No one has to do any of this, but the smoothness of the Department of Limelight was something that remained constant in Illogicopedia's hey-day, and I don't think it is very hard to get back to that. --T3 01:34, 6 Jumbly 2014 (UTC)

Forums are bad luck. Kind of like crows flying over your head. Or was it geese? I agree with the sentiment, though. Things should move faster. On the other hand, in my experience, when things move faster you end up falling out of the boat and getting dashed on the rocks, and the rapids sweep your blood away and before you know it you're just a collection of bones strewn throughout the river, with magic worms chewing on them and making Hollywood squeaky noises... I also wouldn't want to become an admin, if I were you. It happened to me once on a certain other wiki, and bad things happened. Very bad things. Things with lots of slimy tentacles.  Flyingcat (meow?)fr: 02:52, 6 Jumbly 2014 (UTC)
The admin part was a cheap joke somewhat in reference to how I repeatedly tried to become an admin when I was first a regular user here, so I don't really have much of an intention of becoming one. And as for what you said about things moving too fast, I don't think I want things to go fast, as much as I want them to go faster. Or at least more efficiently. Yeah, that's the right word. Efficiently. --T3 03:48, 6 Jumbly 2014 (UTC)
You could implement something to calculate VFF 'health' like Uncyclopedia has, which is basically an equation of age and score, which after long enough makes things look really unhealthy. Or something. And then have it display in red. And then pester admins until they're forced to do something about it. And then get everything THE and Gruntled ever did featured. Or something. I don't know. -— Athyria User talk:AthyriaUser talk:AthyriaUser talk:Athyria 07:06, 6 Jumbly 2014 (UTC)
All I really know is I love their stuff. You should write more stuff like theirs. Or yours. Aren't you awesome? I can't remember, assuming I ever knew in the first place. -— Athyria User talk:AthyriaUser talk:AthyriaUser talk:Athyria 07:08, 6 Jumbly 2014 (UTC)
Ironically, THE and Gruntled are definitely two writers I'm very unlike. I suppose I'm "awesome" when I find a tone in an article and stick with it. Most of my many, many articles I've written are tonal disasters with half-baked jokes flying left and right (also I wrote many when I was 12/13), and I'm not very proud of that. So, am I awesome? A little.. But it took me 390-ish articles to get to 8 points on Illogicopedia:Potentially Talented Individuals.
And as for your comment about health and what have you, I think that would be great if it could be implemented easily. Those are the type of solutions I think are feasible and helpful. --T3 07:46, 6 Jumbly 2014 (UTC)
For better or worse, I have become the main admin when it comes to featuring articles and I would be happy to work with you in any way. I agree with Athyria’s idea that a VFF health code might be beneficial. I would certainly be willing to give it a try. @Marzipan (talk) 08:01, 6 Jumbly 2014 (UTC)
Unfortunately I don't actually know how to do it. -— Athyria User talk:AthyriaUser talk:AthyriaUser talk:Athyria 01:01, 7 Jumbly 2014 (UTC)
I would suggest taking a look at u:Template:Vfh health, for starters.  Flyingcat (meow?)fr: 02:43, 7 Jumbly 2014 (UTC)
I agree with T3PO. Anything that was nominated over two years ago should probably fart the dust. Also on featured users, it's kinda mucky. Clean clean clean. ween ween peen.--Duckwiki2.png|Fonchezzz| Quacking| 15:26, 7 Jumbly 2014 (UTC)
