Gzus were a country folk rock band from Israel formed during 12AD by Jesus' apostles, mainly consisting of singer songwriter Matt Huwe, sitar player PeaTear, and backing vocalist Jay Mez. They have also been accompanied by touring members John 'The Sod' (jam jars; 13AD-15AD) and for a small amount of time Phil Lipp (harmonicamaphone; July 25 - August 29, 12AD) back in the early days of the band.

Reception[edit | edit source]

Gzus were one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the history of popular music, selling over one gazillion ouncez of marijuana internationally. There were no records to put music on in those days, so bands did live performances and earned their money by dealing drugs. According to Christianity Magazine, Gzus' innovative music and cultural impact helped define the 10's, and their influence on country folk culture is still evident today in bands such as Large Concrete Structure and Jesus and the Christs.
