How about implementing a random display of the featured images? Should be possible without the complexity of Uncyc's system. Or, if you want VFF/VFH-style separate voting pages as in Uncyc's VFP, so could be done. --Fluffalizer 13:28, 30 Aym 2008 (UTC)

I like Uncyc's old random image selector - it'd be great if we could replicate that. The voting system is still up for debate but I always thought Uncyc's whole VFP process was a bit complicated. One simple idea that I've thought of:

• Just keep voting directly on the page, archiving by cutting/pasting onto subpages. (thus far, old Uncyc VFP style)
• To feature an image, copy as used to describe it the vfi template to the Image:Filename page; categorization then adds the page to the random selection. (automated with <dpl> tags)

This could be implemented really quickly, the only thing needed being the putting of the image descriptions on the image filename pages and the replacing of the same with a dpl tag for the display. --Fluffalizer 14:34, 31 Aym 2008 (UTC)

That's what I thought I'd use, and now have. To change the look, adjust Template:Vfi.display, which is substituted for the vfi template when a selected image is displayed. --Fluffalizer 14:32, 2 Yoon 2008 (UTC)
