Are we still going by the rule that admins can't have feature stars? --
16:17, 29 Yoon 2008 (UTC)- You can have them if you like, it's just Silent Penguin and me decide not to. Might end up being too corrupt. -- Hindleyak Converse • ?blog • Click here! 16:22, 29 Yoon 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, It's kinda an unwritten rule, admins can have stars, but someone needs to dish em out, so someone must not have them to be impartial, since all admins can hand em out, but most don't it seems sensible for them to only get them for features, which is out of admin control in a way.--Silent PenguinLeave Me Alone 12:49, 1 Jumbly 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, i was readng this and i have done some work with the welcoming comitte, and lots of reverting petty vandalism, and one account of revertnig a massive vandal attack(i revert lots of stuff during it). I dink i get 2 stars. --RFK(frget to sing in)
- You are so desperate for stars, aren't you? —rms talk 02:39, 4 Jumbly 2009 (UTC)
- Is that supposed to be sarcastic or are you trying to critisize me...?--
- Err that would sorta mean that everybody would have like 10 stars. Weve all done a bit of reverting, made new projects and helped with a project. It'd be a good idea to stick to the olden ways, because frankly it would be a pain in the arse to count everything everybody has done. Tankya--Ben Blade 12:37, 4 Jumbly 2009 (UTC)
- To settle this, I'm pretty sure it's a don't ask don't tell policy, like with admin appoointments. Whereas, ignoring the fact I'm the exception to the rule one would be refused adminship if he her or they (Illogicopedia has a thriving conjoined twin community) asked for sysop. Basically, no stars for anyone :D now get back to work 14:35, 4 Jumbly 2009 (UTC)

Lacking on a front, eh?[edit source]
It seems the entire reasoning behind this system is failing. No one ever gets stars for anything other than features anymore.
Maybe revive the concept of "Oh, you made an awesome new project! STAR!" --T3 03:45, 5 Serpeniver 2009 (UTC)
- I kindo tried to revive things a bit about 6 months ago, but in the end the administrators failed to bother giving them out. You see, I think they've got plenty of stuff to be doing instead of doling out feature stars to everyone: I mean, no offense, but wouldn't you rather them update the feature or something else instead? Well, maybe that's a harsh way of putting it, but the Star System has gained something of a stigma - the "Gold Star Brigade", I think Seppy called it, and I'm beginning to see what he meant a little bit. Maybe it's time to draw a line under it and move on, let it be a reminder of the old days of the site when admins had time to go round pasting templates on peoples' userpages :)
- Unless someone can dedicate themself to the project for an extended period of time, that would be a different matter. -- Hindleyak Converse • ?blog • Click here! 10:57, 5 Serpeniver 2009 (UTC)
