Forum:Do we have any uuuuuh active crats?

Do we have crats? Vampires? Dead people who eat the teeth of the innocent? Because I feel like we should. Or: Is Seppy dead? Nerd? Bobkeers? I'm too lazy to ask.

Someone figure this out for me please. I'll have forgotten I ever posed this in approximately 2.7 seconds BOOM. -— Athyria User talk:AthyriaUser talk:AthyriaUser talk:Athyria 19:15, 7 Jeremy 2019 (UTC)

Special:ListUsers/bureaucrat lists three, not counting Nerd43. Hindleyite last edited in November, so he's around, sort of. Nerd42 and Silent Penguin were last here in 2017 except for the former making one edit in May to Talk:Black Lives Matter. Nerd42 made only one logged action (deleting a page) in 2017 and none in 2018, in contrast to Silent Penguin who made several in 2017 including two crat actions. Hindleyite made no logged actions in 2017, and his two in 2018 were an upload and a page move. (Looking through Special:Log/Hindleyite I see that his last crat action was a user rename in 2013 in which he moved a user's pages to "Invalid title". Hmm...)
So the short answer is maybe one, and he's not active in an admin/crat capacity.  Flyingcat (meow?)fr: 19:53, 7 Jeremy 2019 (UTC)
Well, I guess we need more active crats afterall, and at least one (and two would be better) of the active admins should become one.--The Pioneer (A.K.A. かいたくしゃ) 05:33, 8 Jeremy 2019 (UTC)
There's not much crat stuff that needs done. The interwiki was important, but it's not the kind of thing that comes up often. Neither are RFAs or renames. Athyria has essentially been playing the role of a steward. She's pretty busy, though, so these tasks would get done more quickly if someone with a regular presence here could help with handling them. You would need to find somebody who wanted to do it. 2+2 expressed an interest back in October.  Flyingcat (meow?)fr: 19:20, 8 Jeremy 2019 (UTC)
It's been years since I last messed around with wiki stuffs, so I had to look up exactly what rights a 'crat has - embarrassing, I know. :P
If Mediawiki source is right and 'crats are the only ones that can set new admins, I wouldn't be against appointing a new bureaucrat. Usually we would have sought some consensus among all the bureaus but they are inactive grandaddies now. That includes myself as I'm about as active as a superobese whale. :P -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 16:55, 9 Jeremy 2019 (UTC)
I still exist, sort of, and I've adminned wikis in the past. Not that that means anything. I've been at least somewhat active on the site since 2010, mostly before I got locked out of my User:Colonel Sanders account. --Sophie (talk) 17:42, 10 Jeremy 2019 (UTC)
You have to pass RFA before you run for RFB. In principle you can skip that step, but in practice it doesn't work. Then you need experience as an admin, and you need to avoid doing anything controversial or posting on Reddit about the disgusting stuff you do in your spare time. Or something like that.  Flyingcat (meow?)fr: 06:39, 11 Jeremy 2019 (UTC)
Would you guys like to start a new RFA page with some candidates? Special:ActiveUsers could be helpful.
Do you think RFB is a separate issue? Because we can put that in the same discussion or separate it, depending on what we see fit. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 12:30, 11 Jeremy 2019 (UTC)
347 actions... Wow, I didn't know that I was that active here. I guess it's fine to nominate anyone capable for both RFA and RFB (and possibly, RFC - for checkuser, making it a RF-ABC?). Should be discussed on a case-by-case basis.--The Pioneer (A.K.A. かいたくしゃ) 14:22, 11 Jeremy 2019 (UTC)
