Illogicopedia talk:About
What does "actively going against a decision" mean and what justifies warning someone not to? Does it mean editing to put something back after admins have removed it repeatedly for a clearly stated reason, or does it mean something else? I think the language is not clear enough, and calling the admins "werewolves" might be nonsensical but nonsense should be what the rules govern, the rules shouldn't be nonsense in themselves. --Nerd42 03:03, 3 Serpeniver 2007 (UTC)
- "Does it mean editing to put something back after admins have removed it repeatedly for a clearly stated reason, or does it mean something else?" For example; that's the basic idea. Feel free to rewrite it in a clearer way. (or I can do so, later) --The Divine Fluffalizer 10:50, 3 Serpeniver 2007 (UTC)
Here here! I think ^^^^^ is right seeing as the rules are only ever going to be the logical and clearly stated part ofe wiki. A good foundation is what will keep the wiki going for ages. --

...even though I am speaking for myself, what a brilliant and original idea for a wiki this actually is. Credit to Nerd and Seppy (mainly Nerd)... if it weren't for that damn Uncle Pete we would be world famous by now.

At the bit about drugs! -- Hindleyak ( Blab | Blog ) 17:39, 20 Arply 2009 (UTC)

Seriously[edit source]
Nobody reads these. They are now whittled down to the point where they don't represent the wiki anymore. The same goes for that "what is ?pedia about". You are answering questions nobody ever asked. --Silent PenguinLeave Me Alone 20:15, 15 Jumbly 2009 (UTC)
- So? It doesn't matter. --Nerd42 21:18, 15 Jumbly 2009 (UTC)
- Yes it does matter. We want our policy and help pages to be short and straightforward. When I was a n00b, I never read any policy pages that were longer than...oh...a couple paragraphs. The longer and more convuluted our policy pages are, the higher the change that they'll go completely unread. --THE 22:40, 16 Jumbly 2009 (UTC)
- What really makes illogicopedia is the unwritten ethic that can't be put into words. Call it the ?spirit it's like, the cammaradere, and just general feel to the wiki. Or at least it was (depending on opinion) anyway, we could sum most of these up in small sentences, and, it'd be better if it was the community/admins choosing these sentences.
- Brilliant THE 22:48, 16 Jumbly 2009 (UTC)
- True, Sepp, but what ya gonna do? This ain't Uncyclopedia, you know. Who's gonna be bothered enough about Illogicopedia's 'rules' and 'guidelines' (as if you haven't guessed by now, there are none) to constantly update and upgrade this page based on the wiki's current position on, say, forked content or cyber bullying? Actually, I guess that further enforces your point, come to think of it. We might as well have a mood indicator on a scale of 1 to 10: "Today, Illogicopedia is feeling: 10, ANGRY - do not make articles or we shall delete with extreme prejudice". :P :P :P -- Hindleyak Converse • ?blog • Click here! 12:25, 13 Arche 2011 (UTC)

The Willy Wonka quote[edit source]
Is it real? Or as real as a quote by a fictional character can be? -- Hindleyak Converse • ?blog • Click here! 16:45, 27 Arply 2011 (UTC)
- It's real. It's from the original Willy Wonka movie.--

The Salvador Dali quote is genuine as well. Except for the ironic double-meaning of how it's attributed. --Nerd42 18:13, 27 Arply 2011 (UTC)
The opening line[edit source]
Humourous though the sentence may be, I've always felt that the description of the wiki as an "insane repository of words put together in no particular order" here and on the main page contributes slightly to the 'juvenile' label we've always feared. It probably undersells us a bit too, as most articles on ?Pedia are surrealist/zany but for the most part comprehensible. I'd be in favour of replacing it with something that focuses more on the amusing-but-not-neccesarily-funny nature of the material rather than portraying us as an 'anything goes' site.
This probably would have been a bit more important a few years ago, but hey-ho. -- Ben Blade 19:54, 29 Yoon 2013 (UTC)
- "Feared?" I fear nothing! Are you calling me a coward? I'll have you know I defeated a Vermicious Knid in my pajamas before breakfast! Which is too bad, because now I shall never know how it got into my pajamas. --Nerd42 (talk) 02:31, 30 Yoon 2013 (UTC)
