Forum:"Zero" tolerance

We have a long term and often warned "Zero Spammer" This person/people continue to add Han Gul (Korean) script to zero and their talk pages. Yet, the people seem to get little or no "Chinese (or should I say Korean) Burn", that is a ban. The check users and werewolves seem to do little in acting against them. A lot seems to be tolerated here, but there evidently needs to be a set limit.

They've been banned already, but unfortunately this hasn't seemed to stop them and their pesky Korean ways. -- Ben Blade 17:25, 10 Jumbly 2013 (UTC)
I have warned him/her many, many times to stop doing it and I have even resorted to locking 0, which is oddly the only article he seems interested in. Ben is right, I banned him yesterday but obviously he found a way around it. --marbury (talk) 19:51, 10 Jumbly 2013 (UTC)
I banned him...her...possibly it once more. I should have probably just went ahead and made it a perma, but I just hate doing that. Also, 0 is now semi-protected which hopefully should cut back on the problem. --marbury (talk) 08:06, 11 Jumbly 2013 (UTC)

Several rollbacks, three Chinese burns and two sockpuppet accounts later...[edit source]

I'm starting to think we should up on the spambot protection for this site? What with this guy plus all the other, comparatively harmless accounts that do absolutely nothing. Do we have a captcha or anything upon login (I'm pretty sure we do though)? Or should we have something more advanced for article edits than a maths sum generator? -That. Was. AWESOME! Athyria‏‎: "Captchas just aren't that effective anymore, even the ones that keep out humans too - what we need are more targeted anti-spam tools like AbuseFilter and/or Phalanx that can be calibrated to specific sorts of non-content. More difficult here than most places, but still enough to probably keep out the worst of it." --marbury (talk) 07:45, 21 Jumbly 2013 (UTC)
AbuseFilter is pretty damn awesome. But also rollback/banning takes three seconds. Drastic things not really needed hen it's just one individual attacking a small wiki like this. ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) 07:47, 21 Jumbly 2013 (UTC)
The 0 vandal is really of little concern. Like Frosty said, bannings and rollbacks are easy to do. However, I will admit that I am kind of bothered by all the spambots who set up dormant accounts 24/7. I admit I don't really know how big a problem they pose; they seem to be harmless but it is something I would like to see stopped. --marbury (talk) 08:12, 21 Jumbly 2013 (UTC)
